About Satyadeep Gupta: A World Record-Holding Mountaineer
Hailing from Puranpur, Uttar Pradesh, Satyadeep Gupta is more than just a marine engineer; he is a world-renowned mountaineer with the record for the fastest ascent of Mt. Everest. His unyielding spirit for adventure was cultivated in his early years, leading him to pursue high-octane outdoor activities such as skydiving, trail running, and rock climbing.
Satyadeep’s journey in mountaineering started after graduating in Marine Engineering from MERI Kolkata in 2007. Passionate about the mountains, he trained rigorously at the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, Uttarkashi, where he excelled in both Basic and Advanced Mountaineering courses. This solid foundation prepared him for a series of daring expeditions to some of the world’s highest and most challenging peaks.
A Journey of Determination and Triumphs
Satyadeep’s achievements in mountaineering are not just personal milestones; they represent a series of pioneering records and awe-inspiring feats. He has set several records, from becoming the first person to scale both Mt. Everest and Mt. Lhotse twice in a single season to achieving the fastest ascent of Mt. Everest from Camp 4. Historic Feat: The first person globally to summit Mt. Everest and Mt. Lhotse twice within a single season, a feat he completed in just 6 days, 7 hours, and 31 minutes.

First Indian to Traverse Everest and Lhotse in Record Time: In May 2024, Satyadeep covered the two peaks in an astounding 11 hours and 15 minutes.

Mt. Kanchenjunga (May 9, 2022): Reached the summit of the third-highest peak globally at 8586 meters, marking a national achievement.
