Opportunity to Connect with DMET Industry Leaders: An Invitation to DMET Alumni Night 2026

DMET is not just a campus; it is a chapter of life that shapes who we become. Long after the uniforms are folded and the ships change, the spirit of DMET stays with us, quietly guiding every decision we take at sea and ashore.

Today, as cadets of the Indian Maritime University, Kolkata Campus (erstwhile DMET/MERI), we look up to our seniors, the DMETians who have sailed across oceans, led engine rooms, built companies, and carried this institution’s name with pride across the world.

This is a humble call to every DMETian: come back to where your journey began.

Your presence on campus means more to us than words can express. A short visit, a conversation, or a shared experience gives cadets clarity, confidence, and direction. When you speak about life at sea, leadership, failures, and achievements, you help us see the road ahead more clearly.

For us, meeting alumni is not just about guidance; it is about belonging to a legacy. It reminds us that one day, we too will carry the responsibility of guiding the next generation, just as you guide us today.

DMET has always stood strong because of its people. When DMETians return, the legacy does not just continue; it grows stronger.

We invite you to visit the campus, interact with cadets, and once again walk the corridors that shaped your journey. The campus remembers you. The cadets await you.

Once a DMETian, always a DMETian.

A Rare Opportunity to Connect with DMET Industry Leaders

Alumni Night also offers a unique opportunity to engage with an exceptional cross-section of DMET professionals from across the global maritime industry. With senior marine engineers, fleet superintendents, technical managers, ship managers, consultants, and industry leaders present under one roof, the evening becomes a space for meaningful conversation, mentorship, and knowledge exchange.

For senior alumni, it is a chance to reconnect with peers and strengthen professional bonds built over decades. For mid-career professionals, it offers exposure to leadership perspectives across sea-going and shore-based roles. For younger alumni and cadets, it is an invaluable opportunity to learn directly from those who have navigated long, successful careers, gaining insights no textbook can offer.

True to the DMET spirit, these interactions are not transactional. They are rooted in shared experience, trust, and a sense of responsibility toward the next generation.
