What is PROPULSION?
Often described as “The Tech Arena of TEMPEST”, Propulsion is a three-day technical extravaganza designed to challenge participants both mentally and physically. Rooted in real-world maritime and engineering applications, the event nurtures innovation while honoring DMET’s rich legacy of producing world-class marine engineers.
With a prize pool of ₹1,20,000, exciting challenges, and hands-on learning opportunities, Propulsion 2026 promises an experience that goes far beyond conventional competitions.

Key Highlights of PROPULSION 2026
🔧 BOT BALL
A high-energy robotics competition where teams design autonomous robots to play football. Precision engineering, control logic, and strategy determine who scores the winning goal.
🧠 TALK-A-TECH
The intellectual core of Propulsion. Participants present research papers and technical ideas on themes like:

🏁 THE DMET RACE
A signature event deeply inspired by DMET’s heritage. This physical and mental race tests endurance, navigation skills, teamwork, and quick decision-making across multiple pit stops spread across the campus.
Elimination at each stage ensures only the sharpest teams survive till the end.

🚤 DARE TO SAIL
Design, build, and race a DC-motor-powered boat. The only rule that matters—your boat must float and finish first. A perfect blend of marine design, propulsion basics, and racing thrill.
🧩 LA MARINA – The Maritime Quiz
A fast-paced quiz that tests knowledge across shipping, naval architecture, marine engineering, and global maritime affairs. Speed, accuracy, and buzzer reflexes are key.
🏗️ NIRMAAN – Model Making Competition
Where creativity meets engineering feasibility. Teams design working or non-working models addressing real-world engineering problems, judged on innovation, practicality, and presentation.
The event concludes during Alumni Night, adding inspiration from generations of DMETians.
🎮 CONSOLE JAM
A competitive E-sports arena featuring BGMI and FIFA 23, proving that strategy and focus are as important in virtual arenas as they are on deck.
