Dear Members,

It is with great anticipation and a sense of responsibility that we invite you to the 24th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the DMET-MERI Ex-Cadets Association. This significant event will be held as follows:


Date: Tuesday, September 10, 2024 Venue: The Bombay Presidency Golf Club, Chembur, Mumbai Time: 1800 hrs

The Annual General Meeting is not just a statutory requirement; it is a pivotal event that shapes the future of our association. As members of the DMET-MERI Ex-Cadets Association, your participation is essential for several reasons:

  1. Voice Your Opinions and Vote on Key Matters: The AGM is your platform to voice your thoughts, concerns, and ideas. It is a time to contribute to the decision-making process that will influence the direction of our association in the coming year. Your vote on important issues such as the adoption of financial accounts, budget approval, and other strategic decisions is vital.

  2. Stay Informed and Updated: The AGM offers a comprehensive overview of the past year’s activities, achievements, and financial health. By attending, you stay informed about the association's progress and the challenges we face, ensuring that you are up-to-date with the latest developments.

  3. Engage in Meaningful Networking: The AGM brings together a diverse group of professionals from the maritime industry. It is an excellent opportunity to reconnect with old colleagues, meet new members, and expand your professional network. The interactions and discussions during the meeting and the dinner that follows can lead to valuable collaborations and opportunities.

  4. Honour Our Legacy and Plan for the Future: The DMET-MERI Ex-Cadets Association has a rich legacy, and the AGM is a time to honour that heritage. It is also a moment to strategise for the future, ensuring that we continue to uphold the values and standards that have made our association a beacon in the maritime community.

  5. Support the Leadership: The AGM is an opportunity to show your support for the association's leadership. By attending, you demonstrate your commitment to the collective goals of the association and help guide its leadership in making informed decisions that benefit all members.

 

Agenda

The meeting will be presided over by our esteemed President and will include the following key points:

  1. Welcome Address by the President: The President will open the meeting with a welcome address, setting the tone for the proceedings.

  2. Tribute to Departed Members: A moment of respect will be observed to honor the memories of our fellow members who are no longer with us.

  3. Adoption of Minutes from the 23rd AGM: The minutes of the 23rd AGM, held on September 29, 2023, will be reviewed and adopted.

  4. Adoption of Audited Accounts: The audited financial accounts for the period from April 1, 2023, to March 31, 2024, will be presented for adoption. This is a crucial step in ensuring the transparency and accountability of our association’s financial management.

  5. Secretary's Report for 2023-24: The Secretary will present the annual report, providing insights into the association's activities, challenges, and achievements over the past year.

  6. Approval of Budgeted Expenses for the Upcoming Year: The anticipated and budgeted expenses for the next financial year will be discussed and approved. This will guide our financial planning and resource allocation for the coming year.

  7. Any Other Matters: Any other matters that need to be addressed will be discussed with the permission of the Chair. This is an open forum for members to raise any issues or suggestions they may have.

  8. Vote of Thanks: The meeting will conclude with a vote of thanks, expressing our gratitude to all participants and contributors.

 

Important Notes:

  • If you wish to place any additional items on the agenda, please submit your request to the undersigned prior to the meeting.

  • The AGM will be followed by a dinner, providing a wonderful opportunity for fellowship and networking.

Contribution:

  • ₹1,000 for member ex-cadets

  • ₹1,500 for member ex-cadets attending with family

  • ₹1,500 for non-members (per person)



We strongly encourage all members to attend this crucial meeting. Your presence and participation are what make our association strong, vibrant, and capable of achieving its goals.
