The Indian Maritime University – Kolkata Campus (IMU-KC), proudly carrying forward the DMET legacy, once again proved its academic and professional brilliance at the I-ESKIMO 2025 (IMO MOCK) Finals, held on 9th October 2025 in Mumbai. Competing against the finest maritime institutions from across the country, five teams from IMU-KC were shortlisted for the grand finale after a rigorous evaluation process involving research paper submission, online reviews, and semi-final presentations.
The IMO MOCK, India’s most prestigious maritime simulation event, replicates the structure and working of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) through committees such as MSC (Maritime Safety Committee), MEPC (Marine Environment Protection Committee), SDC (Ship Design and Construction), and HTW (Human Element, Training and Watchkeeping). Participants debate global maritime challenges, propose regulations, and defend their policies — embodying the very spirit of the maritime profession.
The finals were graced by eminent dignitaries, including Shri Shantanu Thakur, Hon’ble Minister of State, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, and Shri Shyam Jagannathan, IAS, Director General of Shipping. The event was chaired by Mr. Rajeev Nayyer, President of IMEI, and further honoured by Dr. (Mrs.) Malini V. Shankar, IAS (Retd.), Vice Chancellor, and Dr. Rajoo Balaji, Pro Vice Chancellor, Indian Maritime University.
