The path from the corridors of DMET Kolkata (Directorate of Marine Engineering Training) to the parade grounds of the Indian Naval Academy is one lined with discipline, ambition, and an unwavering commitment to serve the nation. The remarkable journey of four distinguished individuals captured in an inspiring photograph, stands as a proud moment not only for them but for the entire DMET community.

Rising Cadets: The Future of Naval Leadership

Representing the emerging generation of naval professionals, two cadets stand on either end of the group, each carrying the legacy of DMET into the Navy:
Cadet Satyaparakram Satpati, hailing from the 2020 entry batch, stands on the far left.
Cadet Arjun Tandon, from the 2021 entry batch, stands on the far right.
Both are set to graduate in May 2026, prepared to don the prestigious uniform of the Indian Navy and take up the vital responsibility of safeguarding the nation’s maritime frontiers.
Their presence reflects dedication, academic excellence, and the strong technical foundation cultivated during their time at DMET.
Commissioned Leaders: Turning Training Into Triumph
Standing beside the cadets are two accomplished officers who have already earned their commissions as Sub Lieutenants:
Sub Lieutenant Yashraj Pravin Dhamal (second from left) – 2020 entry batch
Sub Lieutenant Sohum Das Gupta (second from right) – 2020 entry batch
Their advancement from marine engineering classrooms to naval commissioning epitomises the transformative journey offered through DMET Kolkata and the broader IMU system. It showcases how technical expertise, combined with leadership training at INA, shapes officers who are ready to lead with integrity and capability.
A Shared Legacy, A Shared Dream

What makes this moment truly special is the unity of their origins. All four individuals, bound by the same academic foundation at DMET Kolkata, now stand together at one of India’s most respected military academies the Indian Naval Academy, guided by the motto “Shaping Future Naval Leadership.”
