For seventy-five illustrious years, the campus at Taratala Road, Kolkata has stood as a cradle of maritime excellence shaping marine engineers, officers, and leaders who have served across oceans and generations. Time has moved forward, batches have grown, but the values instilled within these walls remain timeless.
On 22nd February 2026, we invite you to return, not merely to a campus, but to a shared legacy. TEMPEST 2026 marks the Alumni Homecoming of DMET–MERI, a moment to reconnect with your roots, rekindle lifelong friendships, and witness how the institution you helped build continues to evolve with pride and purpose.
Whether you arrive to relive cherished memories or to see how the campus has transformed over the decades, this gathering stands as a tribute to every alumnus who has been part of this remarkable journey.

☀️ Morning Assembly (10:00 – 12:00)
10:00 AM – Registration & WelcomeCollection of name badges, event schedule, and accommodation keys.
11:00 AM – Campus Guided ToursA walk through the workshops, hostels, and academic blocks that shaped your formative years.
🏏 Afternoon Engagements (12:00 – 17:00)
12:00 PM – Alumni vs Cadets Cricket MatchA traditional contest blending camaraderie, competition, and nostalgia, complete with live commentary.
Family CornerIndoor board games and recreational activities arranged at the New Junior Hostel Mess for families and children.
✨ Formal Evening Ceremony (18:00 – 20:30)
18:00 – Welcome Address & Lamp Lighting Ceremony
18:10 – Legacy PresentationA curated presentation highlighting 77 years of DMET–MERI’s heritage, achievements, and future vision.
19:00 – Distinguished Alumni FelicitationHonouring alumni who have made outstanding contributions to the maritime sector.
19:30 – Cultural Performances & Campus Band
🍽️ Gala Dinner & Live Performance (20:40 – 22:00)
An elegant dinner followed by a live guest band an evening to reconnect, reminisce, and celebrate bonds that time has not weakened.
🏨 ACCOMMODATION DETAILS
For alumni choosing to stay on campus:
Check-in: 21st February 2026 (from 16:00 onwards)
Check-out: 23rd February 2026 (by 12:00)
Breakfast: 07:00 – 09:00 (Mess)
Dedicated Organising Committee support will be available throughout the stay.
