A DMETian Never Sails Alone: Honouring Engineering Officer Rohan Kumar (DMET Class of 2016–2020)

It is with profound grief that DMET Club appeals to the entire maritime fraternity to come together in support of the family of Engineering Officer Rohan Kumar, a proud alumnus of the DMET Class of 2016–2020, who tragically lost his life while serving onboard MT Al Bahiyah during the recent missile attack in the Strait of Hormuz.

Engineering Officer Rohan Kumar embodied the values of every DMETian, dedication, courage, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to duty. Like thousands of seafarers, he sailed not only to serve the maritime industry but also to provide a better future for his family.

He had recently returned to sea after spending precious time with his loved ones, promising to come back home after completing his contract. Tragically, that promise will now remain unfulfilled.

Today, his family is facing an unimaginable loss.

The DMET Fraternity Stands Together

At DMET Club, we firmly believe that once a DMETian, always a DMETian. Our responsibility to one another extends far beyond the campus.

This is a moment for all of us alumni, cadets, faculty, marine engineers, deck officers, shipping companies, and well-wishers to stand united and support one of our own.
